Entebbe Airport: Important Information


Entebbe International Airport has two operational terminals:

  1. The International terminal handles all the International flights in/out bound of Uganda.
  2. A fully-fledged Presidential terminal that handles Heads of Governments (HOG/s) who arrive on private flights. The facility has a dedicated apron and a secondary one nearby for parking purposes. However, the Heads of States who arrive on scheduled flights can still be accorded arrival/departure ceremonies at the Presidential terminal.

Handling Agents

Entebbe Airport has two handling agents: -

All the delegations intending to use private carriers are advised to choose one beforehand.

Airport Service Fee

All delegates on private carriers apart from HOG are required to pay US$50 for Airport service fee per person in cash on departure in addition to other aeronautical charges as will be advised by the handler.

Inflight catering

Inflight Catering can be arranged through the handling agencies or direct contact with NEWREST Inflight Services which is the sole service provider at Entebbe International Airport.

Aircraft fuel

Aircraft Fuel- There is a consortium of the service providers at Entebbe International Airport but companies do not accept cash for the payment of fuel supplied to them unless prior arrangements are made with them or can be contacted through the Handling agents.

Aircraft boarding

The CAA statute, 1994 sec 52(2) requires that no person shall board an aircraft unless he/she has submitted to security of his person and luggage.

Access to airside and other Airport restricted areas for non-traveling delegates is restricted. A security pass may be obtained from Aviation security for special cases.

With the exception of the Heads of Government, airlines do not check in Passengers who are not physically at the airport.
